Rampur Maniharan, District Saharanpur U.P. India A women’s polytechnic was opened at Rampur-Maniharan in the year 2000 with a view to impart vocational training to women folk in rural areas. Having successfully run the institute for women only for over 10 years, necessity of keeping with the modern trend of having co-education as also to increase intake, decision was taken to admit young men folk in the institute. It was, therefore, decided to rename it as Ramrati Institute Of Technology (RIT), sanction for which has since been received. The institute will accordingly start admissions in July 2012 for the academic year 2012-2013 for both boys and girls. Courses on Computer Science, Secretarial Practice, Textile and Fashion Design besides those recognized by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, with a capacity of 400 seats are being offered for the current year. |

After Bill Clinton visited Vinod's high school in his village, he was appalled by the state of the classrooms. He urged Vinod to build a new set of classrooms and laboratories. Vinod spent $2 million in building a new set of science labs, libraries, and classrooms. Results have been simply phenomenal. Now the students graduating from high school are being accepted into top Engineering and Medical Colleges. |

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India To meet the demand for Intellectual Property Attorneys, who are well versed in patents and related issues, Vinod committed to IIT Kharagpur, for establishing a school for Intellectual Law. As India continues to grow into its role as a global partner in Software and Technology, these lawyers are needed to protect Indian intellectual property. The school's construction began in April of 2006 and, once completed, will provide a world-class education leading to a Post Graduate Degree in Law, and later, Doctorate programs. |

University of Lucknow Campus The state of health in Uttar Pradesh hardly needs any justification for the intense need of strengthening and mainstreaming community health education/intervention. A group of highly professional and socially conscious people came together with an aim to make a paradigm shift in the field of public health in India and chose Uttar Pradesh to start the intervention and subsequently, a foundation stone was laid for Dr. Giri Lal Gupta Institute of Public Health and Public Affairs. The institute is a result of the association of some nationally eminent people.

University of Lucknow Campus Mr. S.D. Sharma was president of the Republic of India and was also the roommate of Vinod's dad at the University of Lucknow. Therefore, Vinod decided to honor him with the Shanker Dayal Sharma Institute for Democracy (SDSIFD). SDSIFD has been constructed, furnished and equipped at Lucknow University from funds donated by Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation. It was inaugurated by Mrs. Bimla Sharma, wife of late Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma, former President of India in November 2009. It has since then, been running courses on Democracy and Governance . It also takes up Parliamentary and Judicial Training Programs and Research Projects. |

Christian College , University of Lucknow Campus Vinod's dad studied at the Christian College. Vinod decided to honor his dad at the school by building a student center named in his honor. The Student Center comprises an Auditorium, Canteen and Recreation room with covered area of 8000 sq ft is under construction at Christian College, Lucknow, where Dr Giri Lal Gupta had his school education. It is being constructed within the college campus on land provided by the college. The Auditorium shall have seating capacity of 200, it is fully air conditioned with state of art sound system. The canteen and recreational area is also being fully furnished with modern kitchen equipment and large color televisions etc. It is scheduled for inauguration in Nov 2012 |

Ranthambhore National Park A frequent visitor of National Parks worldwide, Vinod has been instrumental in the conservation of animals, particularly endangered species like the Tiger. He contributes to their survival at Ranthambhore by not only showing solidarity, but also by providing equipment, provisions, and vehicles in coordination with the government's "Project Tiger." The park was recently visited by Bill Clinton. |
