Vinod "Vin" Gupta was the founder of infoUSA, Inc.,
headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Gupta came to the United States
in 1967 after receiving his bachelor's degree in engineering from the
Indian Institute of Technology. He earned a master's degree in
engineering and an MBA at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Mr.
Gupta served as the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
since its incorporation in 1973 through 2008.

The school was founded in 1993 to develop upcoming management professionals and future CEOs who will lead technology-driven and knowledge-based industries.
The school is the foremost B-School in the IIT system and offers both a Masters of Business
Administration (MBA), and a Post- Graduate Diploma in Business
Management (PGDBM). The two-year MBA program spans four semesters of
full-time residency including a six-month internship. The PGDBM program
targets working executives in a flexible, non-residential program. Both
promote rigorous study through a state-of-the-art infrastructure. |

Rampur Maniharan
In July 2000, the Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation opened the Shrimati
Ram Rati Gupta Women's Polytechnic, Rampur. Up to 925 women from mostly
rural areas, often with limited career options, are today being trained
in Computers, Textile Designing, Arts & Crafts, Nursery and Primary
School Teaching, Interior Design and more. Polytechnic features a
state-of-the-art Auditorium, Restaurant, Gymnasium and Girls' Hostel,
plus it has been recognized by DOEACC and the U.P. Board of Technical
Education. |

Gochar Intermediate College, Rampur Maniharan
The Center was founded to help Scientists, Engineers and Doctors better
perform their duties in a professional manner and be a part of the
process of technological advancement. The campus covers more than 10
acres and is home to Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Labs
and a Computer Science Center. It is Vinod's desire that some of those
who study at the WJCST Center gain admission to medical and engineering
colleges. |

India Institute of Technology, Kharagpur
To meet the demand for Intellectual Property Attorneys, who are well
versed in patents and related issues, Vinod committed to IIT Kharagpur,
for establishing a school for Intellectual Law. As India continues to
grow into its role as a global partner in Software and Technology,
these lawyers are needed to protect Indian intellectual property. The
school's construction began in April of 2006 and, once completed, will
provide a world-class education leading to a Post Graduate Degree in
Law, and later, Doctorate programs. |

The Hillary Rodham Clinton Mass Communication Center
Having provided a basic curriculum at the Women's Polytechnic and
Science Center, Vinod now has bigger plans to transform the lives of
young men and women. This new center will include training in
Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Media Management,
Television Presentation/Anchoring and Web Design. |

Tigers of Ranthambhore
A frequent visitor of National Parks worldwide, Vinod has been
instrumental in the conservation of animals, particularly endangered
species like the Tiger. He contributes to their survival at Ranthambhor
by not only showing solidarity, but also by providing equipment,
provisions, and vehicles in coordination with the government's "Project
Tiger." |
